It’s All Just Appallingly Sad

The key is to understand that they need therapy - it was never you - it was them. Let go. Forgive yourself, forgive them - they never realised what was wrong with them and they lost the chance of real love when they had it.
They lost you.
Embrace new passions, be proud of yourself for loving so deeply, allow them to fall away. You’re not a match anymore - you’ve grown and they’ve stayed stuck in avoidance, hiding behind partners they don’t love and curated lives that mean nothing.
It doesn’t matter anymore because at the end of the day you’ve learnt, healed, processed and forgiven. But them? They’re still unhealed, still wondering why they feel numb, still avoiding therapy, still avoiding themselves.
And that is the biggest tragedy of all.
